Tegfan House (map - opens in new window) is in the small village of Llawhaden, just north of Narberth in the heart of Pembrokeshire.  The village is just outside the boundary of the Pembrokeshire National Park as it follows the Cleddau river inland round its ancient woodlands and tidal creeks.

Llawhaden is an ancient village that was once on the Landsker line, the border between the Welsh north of the county and the English south; the impressive ruins of Llawhaden castle dominate the village.

For walkers – the village lies on the Landsker Borderlands trail, a 60 mile circular walk through the Pembrokeshire countryside.  We are also just over a mile from the network of footpaths through the ancient Canaston and Minwear woods.

Cleddau Bridge - 10min walk

Llawhaden Castle - 5min walk

Lawhaden Church - 10min walk

For horseriders – several local riding stables take advantage of the traffic free network of local bridleways, including a Western-style ranch in the village offering short or all day trails.

For fishing enthusiasts – the Eastern Cleddau which runs past the village has salmon and trout; there is also a coarse fishery in the village run by champion fisherman Ian Heaps.

For history enthusiasts – the castle ruins and medieval hospice are close by; on the banks of the river lie St Aidan’s church and the old stone bridge.  A walk through the woods brings you to remains of the iron age settlement Holgan Camp.

Within half an hour’s drive by car – Tenby and the beaches of the south coast, Pembroke and Carew Castle, the creeks and bays of Milford Haven estuary and the Preseli Hills and cliffs of north Pembrokeshire.  For family entertainment, Oakwood Leisure Park is 3 miles from Llawhaden.

The nearest town is Narberth, famous for its range of craft shops and galleries. If you are arriving on foot or by bicycle, we can collect you from Narberth station (4 miles from Llawhaden)
